On Behalf of the Quinte Trash Bash Planning Committee
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the Quinte Trash Bash planning committee has decided to postpone the annual event until further notice to help ensure the safety of residents and volunteers.
Across the four municipalities of Belleville, Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Tyendinaga Township, 1890 participants took part in the 2019 Community Challenge filling 9 large dumpsters with trash and 10 recycling carts with recyclables.
Group & Business Challenge:
A total of 265 garbage bags were collected by groups and businesses in the Quinte area. Many groups participated but the Top performers were:
- Redpath Sugar (Business)
- Batawa Lions (Group)
School Challenge: There was fierce competition between Schools this year with over 1700 students participating.
With 90 bags of garbage collected, St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School in Belleville was our most engaged challenger. Congratulations!
The Quinte Trash Bash planning committee wishes to thank all citizens, sponsors, councilors, businesses and schools for their tremendous efforts in doing their part to help clean up Quinte.
