Community Challenge – Saturday, May 9th, 2020
Want to bash some trash? Follow these 4 easy steps:
Step 1: Register online or by contacting your City/Township Rep (contact info below) and choose an area where you would like to pick up litter. Registering helps us identify the areas that have been cleaned and how many people are participating in the event.
Step 2: Pick litter on Saturday, May 9th from 9am to 1pm. Each community will have designated Trash Bash stations where you can pick up supply kits. Check out the details for your community below.
Step 3: Bring your collected garbage to designated Trash Bash dumpsters. If you don’t have wheels to drop off the trash, contact your city rep to leave your items at the curb.
Step 4: Be sure to tell us how many bags you collected. It helps us collect information for our sponsors.
Too big, too dangerous to haul?
If you come across something really big or heavy (such as furniture) or something too dangerous to pick up (such as needles, condoms, flammable liquids), take note of the location. Do not pick it up. Let us know and we’ll arrange to pick it up.
Only plastic bottles (water, pop and juice) and aluminum cans will be accepted for recycling at the drop-off locations. Paper recyclables found outdoors are too dirty and wet to be recycled and should be placed in garbage bags. Place plastic bottles and aluminum cans in the white or clear bags provided in your supply kit and put them in the recycling container at the drop-off location if provided.
